Hospital Reception Service2024-10-07T10:38:54-04:00

Learning that your child has a heart defect, knowing that his health is fragile and that he will therefore never be like the others, is a shock for many parents. True to its mission “to support children with heart disease and their families”, En Cœur has set up a hospital reception service to provide parents with on-site support.

  • This service has been offered since May 2012 at the Centre mère-enfant soleil at the CHU de Québec.

  • A team of six volunteers provides a reassuring presence to children in the hospital, but also to parents whose children are hospitalized or awaiting surgery.

  • Their role is to offer listening, support and guidance as well as to transmit information, for example the book “Why my child”.

  • They also coordinate loans of prescribed equipment such as breast pumps or Coaguchek and provide information regarding accommodation during the child’s hospitalization.

Please contact your child’s cardiologist for more information about this service.
