Hello everyone!
I’m happy to share that it has now been three years since my transplant. This life-changing event not only transformed my life—it saved it.
I can’t express how grateful I am to have been given this second chance, especially to the family who said yes to organ donation. Their decision saved my life.
I also want to thank my parents. Throughout this entire journey, they never left my side. They stayed with me and fought alongside me as a team. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes.
I nearly lost my life to liver cancer, but today I am still here. I can hear my heart beating. I can breathe. Of course, there were complications along the way, including several serious infections that almost took my life. But thanks to my determination to live, I kept fighting.
I’ve been fighting since I was very young, and at times I was exhausted from having to fight so hard. But now, I no longer need to. I am the first pediatric patient to reach this milestone, and I am very proud to represent it—to represent all those living with rare diseases.
Thank you to everyone who supported me during this chapter of my life. A special thank you to my mother, Joanne Roy, my father, Sylvain Laperle, the donor and their family, the doctors, and the surgeon.
Please remember: you have the power to save lives, just as someone saved mine.

Thank you, life.
