I had twins, one of whom was diagnosed with a severe heart defect. Our Léa-Gaëlle had to be hospitalized immediately after birth and operated on within a few weeks. I gave birth 1 month early and she had intrauterine growth retardation. I therefore had to produce milk in considerable quantities for my two babies, and especially for her, who received breast milk thanks to the generosity of Hema-Quebec donors. The En Coeur Foundation loaned me a breast pump while she was hospitalized in the neonatal unit for 4 months. Today, Léa-Gaëlle is almost 2 years old, catching up well on her development and bursting with energy. Thankfully, we have been immensely supported through this emotional journey.
