Our ambassadors
Léa Racine
“When I was eight days old, I had heart surgery, so I already knew what it meant to get out of my comfort zone. From birth, I also learned that life is fragile, but that everything is possible! Helping people who are going through similar situations is very close to my heart. Do you want to help me help them?”
-Léa Racine, youth ambassador
Justine Pelletier
“The support and listening offered by the Foundation are a precious gift for families with a child with a heart problem. The Foundation is twice as important since one of my godchildren also has a heart defect. It is therefore a great honour for me to be able to contribute to this cause ♥️”
-Justine Pelletier, ambassador
Pierre-Luc Cartier
“Don’t wait for the perfect moment to accomplish the things you’ve always dreamed of. Do it now. If life has given me a second chance, believe me when I tell you that there’s nothing worse than being in a hospital bed regretting things that were so simple before.”
– Pierre-Luc Cartier, ambassador
Eric de Montigny
“An experience like open heart surgery leaves physical and mental scars. I realized very early in life that I had to take full advantage of it. It’s only natural for me to want to give back to the Foundation. I received help when I needed it, and I would like other children and families to benefit from it as well.”
-Eric de Montigny, ambassador
Emmy Lapierre
“It happened on November 9, 2016, and the En Cœur Foundation was able to support us in the worst critical moments. Throughout the confusion, the impossible decisions, the inhuman stress that inhabited us, not knowing if her little heart would manage to regain strength or if we would have to say goodbye to her…”
-Emmy Lapierre, ambassador
Anne-Marie Cassault
“I found out about the En Cœur Foundation on August 24, 2018. My son was 7 days old then. This day was one of the most difficult of my life. One of the scariest. That’s when we learned that our little love had a heart defect, an anomalous pulmonary venous return. »
-Anne-Marie Cassault, ambassador
Léa Brousseau
“The Foundation was a pillar throughout these difficult times which occurred amid a global pandemic. The moral support of the team of volunteers was more than appreciated by Léa, who, due to health measures, had to spend most of her time alone during these 11 days of hospitalization.”
-Léa Brousseau, ambassador
Jennyfer Levasseur G.
“I was born with a congenital heart defect called transposition of the great vessels (TGV). My parents had a lot of help from the En Cœur Foundation when I was a baby. It’s therefore with great pleasure that I wish to offer my help as an ambassador.”
-Jennyfer Levasseur Gallagher, ambassador
Sarah Boisvert
“It’s his heart that needs fixing, but it’s mine that’s bleeding. Our stay lasted 32 days; more than a month away from home during which the En Cœur Foundation supported and reassured us daily. A relief for the worried and distraught new parents that we were.”
-Sarah Boisvert, ambassador
Catherine Paquin
“It is with great happiness and gratitude that I join the En Cœur Foundation as ambassador. Two and a half years ago, I gave birth to my daughter, Marguerite, born at 1.4 kilos with severe intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). She stayed a month and a half in neonatology at Sainte-Justine, where a few days after her premature birth, she was diagnosed with a heart defect.”
– Catherine Paquin, ambassador
Béatrice Dessureault
“I was born with a congenital heart defect called tetralogy of Fallot. I underwent a first surgery at the age of 6 months and a second in 2012. Although I’m now well, I’m regularly followed for my tetralogy of Fallot. On many occasions, the En Cœur Foundation was present for my parents, which is why today I want to get involved as an En Cœur ambassador.”
– Béatrice Dessureault
Mélissa St-Laurent
“I have lived all my life with congenital heart disease, more precisely an anomalous right coronary artery. Two years ago, I had emergency open-heart surgery because it could suddenly rupture at any time. I proudly wear the title of ambassador, because this cause is close to my heart and it’s an honour to invite people to donate. Health is priceless! A healthy heart is LIFE!”
– Mélissa St-Laurent
Rémi
“Today, Rémi, our great superhero, came home after undergoing his second open-heart surgery. All of this is possible because of the world-renowned medicine and quality care he had access to here, in Montreal.”
– Andrée-Kim, mother of Rémi
